Pop Culture Hiroshima

In the summer of 2017, the Hiroshima Pop Culture Exchange Promotion Committee launched a unique event called Hiroshima Pop Culture, bringing together fans and creators who share a passion for modern pop culture. The event highlighted some of the most influential elements of contemporary entertainment, including animation, cosplay, and anime songs—genres that have grown immensely popular across the world.

The main goal of the event was to promote mutual understanding and cultural exchange through pop culture. By gathering enthusiasts from different backgrounds, Hiroshima Pop Culture aimed to create a welcoming space where creativity, artistry, and fandom could connect beyond borders.

Following the success of its first year, the event was renamed Pop Culture Hiroshima in the next edition. The rebranded event continued to grow, attracting cosplayers and pop culture enthusiasts from around the globe. Participants traveled from countries such as China, Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the United States.

With representatives from 12 countries, including Japan, Pop Culture Hiroshima quickly gained recognition as an exciting international gathering for fans of anime, cosplay, and pop culture. The event not only showcased stunning cosplay performances and musical entertainment but also strengthened friendships and collaborations between global pop culture communities.

Today, Pop Culture Hiroshima stands as a celebration of creativity and cultural connection, demonstrating how pop culture can bring people together and inspire a shared appreciation for art, storytelling, and imagination.
